Manual Therapy
Manual therapy involves techniques utilised by physiotherapists to restore mobility to stiff joints and to reduce muscle tension in order to return the client to more natural movement without pain. Mobilisations, muscle releases and other manual therapy techniques are aimed at relaxing tense muscles and restricted joints in order to decrease pain, increase flexibility and improve functional movement.
Some of our manual therapy techniques include:
Joint Mobilisations
Soft tissue techniques
Neural glides and de-sensitization techniques
Mobilisations with movement
Muscle releases with movement
Dry needling
Our physiotherapists have regular professional development sessions to learn several different ways of manual therapy to assist in gaining full range of movement and gain pain relief. We often utilise this time to also educate the client on how to do some of these movements themselves for self-management
